About the Event

Let your ears soak in the mystery and wonder of the lands of stories. This is the last session at The Monday Club in the autumn series. We have done so much and travelled so far together. Now it's a time to just be. The to do list can wait. Everything can wait actually. Please bring anything that makes you feel comfy and relaxed.

The nights are long and the days are short, and at this time of year, our ancestors used to gather by the fire and listen to stories to warm their bodies and souls. And this evening is no different. Join storyteller Nana as she enchants you with stories and transports you to magical places.

⬇️ Check the multiple benefits of training your curiosity muscle with us and practicalities at the bottom of this page ⬇️

Nana Tomova believes that stories can help us find our place in the world. Here is her story in her own words.

Stories tell of adversity - fighting a dragon, walking the world to be with one’s beloved, losing your skin and finding it again. They offer hope, courage, wisdom and medicine. That's what they have offered me.

I was born by the Black sea in Bulgaria and as I moved my home through several countries, stories stayed with me to offer me their gifts, and through them I found belonging.

I love to tell sea stories, explore Slavic myths and folktales, including translating my own collections from Bulgarian - these are old, old stories which carry much wisdom. I also love to tell stories about about wild wise women. Baba Yaga is one of my favourites, I grew up with her.

I love being in Nature. Being outside for me is liberating and inspiring. I believe the best place to tell stories is outside, this is why I lead story walks - a magical experience combining nature and stories.

As a mental health pharmacist for over a decade, I know the importance of nature connection and taking some time out for ourselves. I created the Story Apothecary Podcast a year ago to offer story prescriptions to the world, so that everyone can have the possibility to experience the wisdom and medicine of stories. So sit by the fire, and let us enter the magical world of stories together.

The Story Apothecary Podcast:

The benefits of training our curiosity muscle together:

🎈 discover new layers of ourselves, others and gain new skills.

🎈 get to dip our toes into all these wonderful things that happen out there without breaking the bank or needing to commit to further courses.

🎈 learn how to approach life with curiosity, open mind even when dull moments arrive.

🎈 relax into your perfectly imperfect self. Mistakes will be embraces as God know we will do plenty of those.

🎈 the dinner table stories will be less boring. Our family will be grateful.

🎈 becoming more interesting, curious and attractive. Our current and future partners will love it.

🎈 but most importantly, we will keep being curious even when shit hits the fan.

"The Monday Club was an amazing experience! It  became almost a habit to meet both new and familiar people in a cozy friendly circle. Facilitators were super interesting people, who softly and skilfully helped me to find something new about myself. And it was fun as well! Nora is the most joyful and caring person, who goes far and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcome. I highly recommend this experience! " Svetlana B.

  • each Monday we have two hours of being together. You will receive a zoom link and a short pdf a few days before with all the info needed.
  • 7.30 pm we start and for half an hour, we arrive, chat, say hello, moan about whatever is going on with us at that moment; yep, moaning will be allowed.
  • 8 pm, we have our lovely facilitator with us for one hour to stretch our curiosity muscle and experience something new. Stuff will happen.
  • 9 pm, we have half an hour to share how we felt about the experience, what we like or not, have a glass of wine while we chill. Don't worry; you are in safe hands. I have been holding space for people to share their stuff since I was a child.
