About the event
Women we are told all the time what to do, how to do it, when to do it, how to look, or move or feel.Â
That is why I created this space where we are let to just be and dance how ever we want too, with what ever emotions arise within and by doing that we keep sane in this crazy demanding world.Â
Dancing is a way to get in touch with our bodies and emotions and move through them.Â
This is not about getting the steps right or impressing anyone.Â
Dancing for Sanity is for women who want to let loose, dance like no one is watching, are fed up of everyone telling them what to do and want to have simple fun. I will be facilitating this space with minimum of instructions. Simplicity is the key. We will have a chance to connect to each other and introduce ourselves at the beginning for a short bit before we dance.
You get to experience my personal Disco playlist, which I will share with you all so you can check it out and you will also be free to add songs to it on the evening.Â
The localtion is at the Blackheath Quaker Meeting Room in the upstairs room. Will have nibbles. No alcohol will be served at these sessions. Please bring your own non alcoholic drink.
Nora Sorensen:
I have been hosting parties, social events, since my adulthood in various positions such as: restaurant manager in central London, family event organiser with my friends, a mum organising all our daughter's birthday parties, a fair and PTA organiser at Greenwich Steiner School for several years, hosting online events at The Monday Club since 2021, a co-creator of courses with different facilitators and most recently organised my own birthday party with 50 guests.
My hosting skills come from my inner joy for celebrating life and gratefulness for being alive, combined with planning and organisational skills inherited from my grandma and my own trauma that gave me gifts such as sensitivity and creative problem solver. Hosting events is the way I show my love for people.
Dancing is my most beautiful and efficient way for me to show, joy, sadness, release anger, understand how I feel and connect to my body and others. If you want to know more about me, check my media as I share myself there regularly in all my messy glorious self.
